28/01/10 - New Corrections 2.22 release - this version provides compatibility with Dimensions 2.50b EC VAT changes and contains all maintenance changes to date

29/12/09 - New Transaction Broker 2.10g release - this new version has been released to add changes required for the EC Sales List when connecting to Horizons data files.

• A new VAT utility has been added to update batched orders with the new 17.5% VAT rate

• Changes required for the EC Sales List have been made in accordance with VAT legislation changes from Jan 2010

• A new report has been added called "Reverse Charge Sales List"

11/12/09 - All VAT service packs now available - covering the following versions of Dimensions and Dimensions Lite:

These service packs provide a new VAT utility to update the VAT rate and value on batched sales and purchase orders, as well as functionality covering the changes to the EC Sales List and EU Services Reverse-Charge VAT legislation which takes effect on 1st Jan 2010.

16/11/09 - New Transaction Broker 2.10f release - this version has been released to provide compatibility with Dimensions 2.50b.

16/11/09 - New Dimensions 2.50b release - this new release of Dimensions is primarily to provide functionality for the forthcoming VAT legislation changes from 1st Jan 2010. New features in version 2.50b include the following:

• Enhancements to EC Sales Report for new legislation from 1st Jan 2010

• Enhancements to facilitate tracking of EC Services and addition to 2 new VAT rate types relating to new EU Services legislation from 1st Jan 2010

• Support for XML VAT100 form submissions to HMRC

• New feature to record historical VAT rate percentage against transactions

• Two new VAT utilities to update batched orders with the new 17.5% VAT rate and to update the VAT percentage rate against historical transactions

This release is only compatible with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008. Please contact us before upgrading if you are still using SQL Server 2000 or MSDE.

09/09/09 - New Transaction Broker 2.10e release - new features in version 2.10e include the following:

09/09/09 - New Executive Desktop 2.20b release - there are no new features in this release but it includes the new Access branding

24/08/09 - New Office Integration 4.10a release - new features in version 4.10a include the following:

• New Excel templates for Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet

• New Outlook Today panels for Costing and Accounting for Carbon Emissions

10/08/09 - New Dimensions 2.50a release - new features in version 2.50a include the following:

• Enhancements to Purchase Invoice Register module - including updated workflows, approver groups and Carbon Emission entry

• BACS payment enhancements - BACS export files can now be produced for currency payments, using two new BACS formats (Business Master MT100 and SWIFT MT103) and bank details for multiple accounts can now be held

• Support for Crystal version 12 (2008)

• Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 only. Please contact us before upgrading if you are still using SQL Server 2000 or MSDE

06/04/09 Dimensions Service Pack 2.44d.03 - this service pack has been released for Dimensions version 2.44d, and incorporates all maintenance updates to date. To download the installer click here.

12/03/09 - New Payroll 4.50a release - this is the new release of Access Payroll for the 2009-2010 tax year. It is required for submitting the year end returns for the 2008-2009 tax year as well.

This version will begin shipping soon to all Payroll users who have renewed their annual licence. Please continue to use your existing 2008-2009 tax year version 4.40a, up to and including the last period end of the current tax year.  At this point the new 4.50a Payroll should be installed, the year end returns updated using this new version and the tax year end procedure should be run. Processing for the new 2009-2010 tax year can then commence.

New features in version 4.50a include the following:

• All 09/10 legislation changes including Upper Accrual Point (UAP)

• New Z-fold Laser Security Payslip layout

• Connection changes to Dimensions/Lite on Microsoft SQL Server 2008

• With this release the software becomes Access Payroll SE (Standard Edition), to differentiate with the new SQL version of Payroll

12/02/09 Dimensions Service Pack 2.44d.02 - this service pack has been released for Dimensions version 2.44d, and incorporates all maintenance updates to date. To download the installer click here.

09/12/08 - New Dimensions 2.44d release - this version primarily adds support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and the default VAT rate in new company datasets will now be set to 15%.

25/11/08 - UK VAT Rate change from 17.5% to 15% - the UK Government has announced that the standard rate of VAT will be reduced from 17.5% to 15%.  This change comes into effect on Monday 1st December 2008 and will run for 13 months.

Access have produced PDF factsheets for Dimensions/Dimensions Lite and Horizons/Foundations XP users which include detailed guidance on how to implement the VAT rate change, and how to deal with transactions that span the VAT rate change date.

10/11/08 - Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - the next release of Dimensions will support Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Users considering a migration to this version of SQL Server should therefore await the release of Dimensions version 2.44d. Please contact us for more details.

04/11/08 - Changes to Crystal Reports Licensing Terms – Citrix and Terminal Server - Business Objects have redefined the terms under which users may run Crystal Reports as part of the free runtime provided with Access products. Business Objects are now being explicit that if applications are being run on Terminal Server or Citrix then the user will need to purchase a Crystal Developer licence to legitimise such use. Business Objects position on this is that the free runtime licence is for “Client” applications only. They have now clarified their interpretation that a desktop application that runs on a Citrix or Terminal Server is regarded as a “Server” application and therefore requires a further licence. Please contact us if you have any questions about this.

04/11/08 - Foundations XP, Horizons and Payroll with Windows Server 2008 - in a multi-user environment, changes in Windows Server 2008 have resulted in Access recommending that users do not share Omnis data files for these applications in this version of Windows Server. Previous versions of Windows Server (2003, 2000 etc) are unaffected. This does not affect Dimensions or Dimensions Lite as these applications use Microsoft SQL Server as the data repository. Please contact us if you are moving to Windows Server 2008.

09/10/08 - Payroll Service Pack 4.40a.03 - this service pack has been released for Access Payroll version 4.40a, this reverts the change made in the 4.40a.02 service pack for the new pre-printed P45 A4 layout which has been withdrawn by HMRC until Apr 2009. New Payroll service packs can be checked for by choosing Info>>Check for Updates within your Payroll application, or via the Access Update Monitor. If you have any problems downloading the update we have also created our own installer which can be downloaded here.

25/09/08 - Payroll 4.40a.02 P45 Layout - if you have any problems printing P45's with the new HMRC layout Access have released a custom patch for this purpose. Note this custom patch has now been superceded by the 03 Service Pack released on 9th October, as detailed above.

24/09/08 - New Dimensions 2.44c release - this version adds extra Accounting for Carbon Emissions Crystal Reports, extra security settings for sort keys on records, enhancements to enquiry windows and several other small enhancements.

24/09/08 - New Executive Desktop 2.20a release - this version replaces the Executive Desktop Processor with the Executive Desktop Service and Service Controller. This allows Executive Desktop to run as a Windows service.

21/08/08 - Payroll Service Pack 4.40a.02 - this service pack has been released for Access Payroll version 4.40a, and incorporates the new PAYE parameters which take effect from 7th September 2008. New Payroll service packs can be checked for by choosing Info>>Check for Updates within your Payroll application, or via the Access Update Monitor. If you have any problems downloading the update we have also created our own installer which can be downloaded here.

12/08/08 - Dimensions Datachecker Service Pack 2.44b.02 - this service pack has been released for Dimensions Datachecker version 2.44b, and must be used for all Dimensions upgrades from versions prior to 2.44b. To download the installer click here.

12/08/08 - Dimensions 2.44b Classic Icons - it is now possible to revert Dimensions 2.44b to use the 'classic' icons used in versions of the software prior to 2.44b. We have created an installer to install the 'classic' icons and a second installer to reinstall the new 2.44b icons if you wish to change between the two. To download either installer click here.

12/08/08 Dimensions Service Pack 2.44b.02 - this service pack has been released for Dimensions version 2.44b, and incorporates all maintenance updates to date. This release of the service pack resolves an issue with the database recovery method and should be installed before attempting an upgrade to Dimensions 2.44b.02. 01/08/08 - Dimensions 2.44b - all Dimensions users should contact us before upgrading to Dimensions 2.44b for detailed installation advice which is crucial to this release.

30/04/08 - New Transaction Broker 2.10c release - this latest release of Transaction Broker adds compatibility for new fields introduced in Dimensions 2.44b such as delivery route, inactive flag, PO notes etc.

30/04/08 - Dimensions Service Pack 2.44b.01 - this service pack has been released for Dimensions version 2.44b, and incorporates all maintenance updates to date. To download the installer click here.

09/04/08 - New Access Office Integration 4.00a release - this latest release of AOI adds extra functionality and provides a user experience consistent with Office 2007 and Windows Vista (note AOI is still also compatible with previous Office versions as well as Windows XP).

New features in version 4.00a include the following:

• New AOI quick find toolbar

• AOI quick find Vista Gadget with drag and drop functionality

• New views in Outlook Today including:

  • Works Orders

  • CRM - Pipelines and Campaigns

• Access Analytics available within Outlook Today for data cubes

• Updates to interface

08/04/08 - Notice of withdrawal of support in 2009 for SQL2000/MSDE

Please note that with effect from 1st January 2009 Access will be testing and supporting new software releases against SQL2005 and SQL2008 only. Support for SQL2000/MSDE will be phased out as new Access software versions are released during 2009. This is following Microsoft’s own support policy which is withdrawing mainstream support for SQL2000 with effect from 8th April 2008. As a user of Access and Microsoft SQL Server you will want to plan your migration from SQL2000. Please contact us if you require further advice on this.

27/02/08 - New Payroll 4.40a release - this is the new release of Access Payroll for the 2008-2009 tax year. It is required for submitting the year end returns for the 2007-2008 tax year as well.

This version will begin shipping soon to all Payroll users who have renewed their annual licence. Please continue to use your existing 2007-2008 tax year version 4.30a, up to and including the last period end of the current tax year.  At this point the new 4.40a Payroll should be installed, the year end returns updated using this new version and the tax year end procedure should be run. Processing for the new 2008-2009 tax year can then commence.

New features in version 4.40a include the following:

• Icons updated with new Vista-style look and feel

• Monitor application to download service packs and other update files

• New parameters from 6th April

• P46 (car) and PENNOT by XML

• Changes to comply with year end stationery and XML

• P35 checklist updated in line with latest guidelines

• SSP1 reasons updated

• The process of sending payslips by email has been improved

• New employee list report in Crystal format

• HMRC messages can be held centrally

• CIS-match/verify window can be printed

• CIS-verification number now written back to subcontractor records

• New Accounting for Carbon Emissions module. This module is included at no extra charge for all Dimensions users. See news for more details

• Credit Control module has been rewritten and enhanced with major new functionality

• Free embedded PDF driver now included, removes previous requirement to use third party PDF driver for email of documents

• Look and feel has been updated with Windows Vista style icons, a new module Navigator and the ability to view the Dimensions Dashboard or a web site as the application background

• Cashbook - bank reconciliation report search enhancements, reconciliation can now sort by value as well as value in and out

• Stock - a new ACR stock movement document type has been added, levels have been added to sub-analysis records, and minimum/maximum stock levels can be tied to sub-analysis records

• Sales Ledger - multiple standard terms templates can be defined and linked to customer records, pro-formas and debtors letters can be sent by email, delivery addresses can be assigned a delivery route to assist with printing delivery notes, new 'As At' debtors reports have been added

• SOP - Normal and Urgent orders can now both be shown combined on the batch selection window

• POP - supplier and order notes can now be edited from a purchase order

• Costing - Estimate and Actual Costs can be shown without uplifts as a switchable option

• Nominal - new 'As At' Balance Sheet and Trial Balance reports, Nominal P&L Summary can be run for period ranges, new security profile setting to restrict future posting of recurring journals

• System - records can now be flagged as 'Inactive', new First Trust BACS format, PAS76 Vat reports added, USA Version now supports three decimal places for tax rates, ZetaFax is now the default for fax settings, external documents link icon has been added to all primary record windows
